Meet our new arrival sweetheart Darcy!
Darcy is a young and exquisite saluki cross of about 18 months, certainly no more than 2 years old. She has only just come out of the pound and is coping incredibly well.
She was totally panicked when we picked her up and frantically stressed. After some good r&r, she is settling in to her foster home with four fur foster siblings (all saluki crosses) and is such a dream of a girl. We’ve fallen for her quickly!
Only a few accidental tiddles in the house but otherwise completely clean, and her stress levels have eased considerably. She is so friendly, affectionate and doting, an absolute pleasure to be around.
Yes she is stunning, but this girl has also got brains and bags of charm! She has learnt just by watching her foster siblings (who mostly sit or lay down for their food) to do just the same! She has an excellent appetite, but does need a bit of weight on her bones. She was very dirty indeed when she was in the pound but had a lovely scrub with an organic and healing shampoo and wowee, just look at her now! Certainly smells a bit sweeter too.
She loves snuggling up and yes she does sleep on the bed, usually on your legs! She makes the most endearing groans when getting all comfy and sleepy.
She loves having a little paddle in the paddling pool and playing with her siblings. She shares toys very nicely indeed and takes treats so gently.
She has only been with us a few days and we are just amazed at how brilliantly she is doing. A thoroughly lovely girl with so much love and happiness to give.
So what sort of home would Darcy like?
Darcy would like a home with another hound or even a few! She would not cope at all well on her own so please do not apply if you have no other dogs.
She would like someone who is around a fair bit. She can be left in the company of other hounds for 4 hours but any longer than that would be too much.
As yet, because she has only just arrived, she has only received her first lot of vaccinations so will need her second lot. She is also not spayed yet.
She has been wormed, deflead and is microchipped.
Darcy has a heart of gold and being around her is such a joy. Whoever adopts her will be very lucky indeed!!
