Meet our stunning blue greyhound girl Aurora.
Aurora was saved by our good friends at H.A.R.T. and was soon on our way to us from Ireland, with her best friend Thea (who has just been adopted!)
Aurora is an easy going girl, who is settling in really well to foster, with her two foster siblings, both sighthounds. So far she has shown a fondness for squeaky toys, lazing around and going for nice strolls with her foster family.
She is good on the lead, and a joy to have around.
She is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and parasite treated.
Aurora needs to live with another dog.
Aurora is not cat friendly.
She is in foster in West Sussex.
Foster Mom Update!
She has managed the stairs!! Up and down, with some trepidation, but she did it.
Took a couple of days of looking up from the bottom stair. But cracked it yesterday!
She has also discovered how comfy our bed is!! However, as I'm working, she will not be sharing!😉😁
Out on walks she is a bit hesitant, especially if men come towards her, walking or jogging, but each day is getting better. She walks nicely with the other two, but insists on trying to trip me up by walking immediately in front of my feet!!🤣
She is enjoying her food. No aggression at tea time, but enthusiastic. We have a slow feeder bowl, which she is fine with, and they are all about the same pace, so very little spare when they start mooching around the 3 bowls.
She is clean in the house apart from one mistake, which was probably our fault!😐
I feel she will benefit from having a confident dog in her furever home. She likes company, be it human or hound.
So far, so good.
She also loves furry, squeaky toys!!😁
Foster Mom Update June 2 2020
Well, we're 3 weeks in now. Aurora has learnt our routine and is much more settled in the home environment.
She is getting very confident up and down the stairs, has discovered the double bed! ( not allowed during the night as I need my beauty sleep!😉😁
She enjoys her walks, but gets tired quite quickly. Yesterdays 4 mile early morning stroll left her sleeping for the rest of the day!😆
She is looking to play with Ziggy, but he is a bit of a princess!!
Piper and Aurora have an occasional spat, but nothing serious, and we know it's Piper doing all the arguing as it usually involves one of "her" toys.
She will need another dog to live with, and probably someone who won't leave her for too long at any given time. She seems to need her pack around her to feel safe.
She is not worried by thunder, lorries, traffic in general.
Her confidence has grown hugely in these 3 weeks, so I think she will learn that her fears are unfounded, in time.
Not seeming to be agressive towards other dogs, but she is very interested in the small furry ones!!😳
She is very affectionate and loves a fuss, most of her kennel coat has now gone and she is starting to shine.
