Pirata came from the dog shelter La Guarida, in Córdoba.
"When he arrived in the sanctuary of Galgos en Familia, he had many fears and seeing the scars on his face, we can imagine why. At the beginning, it was so hard to get close to him. However, there is nothing that helps more than treating a dog with patience and lot of love. And that is what we did, getting some incredible results. Now, Pirata is a lovely and affectionate boy with people he recognises and if he feels comfortable with.
When he is with other dogs he is calm, submissive and sociable, no matter if they are males or females."
This stunning boy has now arrived with in the care of Lurcher SOS as part of Project Galgo and is in foster in Essex where, although still shy and a little wary at times, is gaining confidence. He is adjusting well and learning the values of living in a home, i.e. snoozing on the sofa and bed. Pirata likes the company of other dogs and will need to be homed with another hound or two who are confident, to help him along. He will need a calm home with his people around a lot to help build trust. He is still very wary of strangers and will need a home who will understand this.
Pirata is such a gentle boy who has overcome so much in life, and he is an absolute pleasure to be around.
