We couldn’t do our work without our network of selfless volunteers. Whether you can donate 10 minutes of your time or a few hours, every single person helps LurcherSOS keep saving more hounds in need.

Ways to help us

  • You can help us to raise funds by taking part in an event such as one of our online auctions on our Facebook page; joining in one of our street collections, holding a boot fair, coffee morning, or sponsored event, or, if you're a creative type, by making collars, coats etc!

  • Help us approve potential homes for our hounds. No experience is necessary as full advice and support will be given.  Home checkers are desperately needed throughout the UK.  Dogs may have found a possible permanent home through their details being advertised on here or on Facebook but can go nowhere until a home check has been carried out and paperwork completed.  Without these volunteers, dogs will linger in foster unnecessarily, taking up valuable foster space for other dogs needing to come to rescue.

  • We are always in need of people willing to help transport dogs into rescue from a pound in a different part of the country; collect a dog who has perhaps just arrived in the country; into a foster home or even take a dog for veterinary treatment in the case of an emergency.

  • We always need donations of items for raffles and auctions. So if you have any unwanted items, let us know!
