Lulu

Meet Lulu, a dainty and elegant Lurcher - possibly a Whippet x Saluki - standing just 21 inches to the shoulder and weighing 15kg. Around 18 months to 2 years old, Lulu is a sweet, slightly shy girl with a cheeky little Saluki sparkle that shines once she feels safe and secure.

Lulu has recently returned to rescue through no fault of her own, after a change in her previous home’s circumstances. Since coming back, she’s shown more confidence with other dogs and a livelier, playful side. She can still be a bit hand-shy with people - something she’s always had - but she's affectionate in her own gentle way.

She’s clean in the house as long as she’s taken out regularly, though she hasn’t quite mastered asking to go out. She still prefers not to go into the garden alone, but with reassurance and consistency, her confidence is building.

Lulu must have a doggy companion.
She doesn't like being left alone but settles well when another dog is around. She needs a home with a playful, balanced dog who enjoys rough-and-tumble games, as Lulu thrives on that interaction. Her current foster reports that she plays enthusiastically but backs off immediately if her playmate tells her off. Though her play might look full-on at times, it’s well within normal Lurcher boundaries. Lulu really needs to be homed with another sighthound.

She’s not currently spayed, so any resident males must be neutered.

Lulu isn’t a fan of crates and may become distressed if confined alone, but she’s trustworthy when given space in the house. She’s non-destructive, doesn’t chew, and shows no guarding behaviours - though she won’t say no to an unattended snack! She’s happiest snuggled up on the sofa or bed and likes to sleep near her people at night.

Training-wise, some of her previous progress has taken a back seat - her recall and loose lead walking have slipped a little due to her excitement at being out and about again. But with regular walks and gentle reminders, this should quickly return. She knows her basic commands, has enjoyed training classes, and travels well in the car. She’s confident in cafes and busy areas, though still cautious around large or overly boisterous dogs.

Lulu is a beautiful, sensitive soul with so much love to give. If you can offer her a calm, playful home with a confident canine friend, she’ll repay you with loyalty, affection, and endless charm.
