Lumi
Lumi is an affectionate Saluki-cross Lurcher, estimated to be around four years old. She is sadly back up for adoption after her family separated and could no longer provide the long-term care she deserves. Lumi is a cuddle enthusiast with endless affection to give, and she will truly thrive in a loving, supportive home.
She is happiest living with another dog, as she enjoys the company of dogs of all breeds. Lumi is best suited to a home with a garden and is not compatible with cats or small animals. She’s a social butterfly who loves greeting every person and dog she meets, and she would likely do well in a calm household with well-behaved children.
Lumi adores going for walks and will eagerly jump into her harness. She enjoys walking by your side but also likes to scout ahead. Like many rescue dogs, Lumi has a strong prey drive, which will need continued training. She is calm in cafes and even enjoys train rides.
In the past six months, Lumi has made great progress with separation anxiety. With another dog for company and a lick mat for stimulation, she can now be left alone for several hours without issue.
Every dogsitter who has cared for Lumi has said she is a joy to look after. One shared, “Lumi is an absolute sweetheart. She's laid-back but will take all the fuss you're willing to give her. A very gentle girl.”
Since her adoption in October 2024, Lumi has become more food-motivated. She remains independent but now happily sits for food and treats. We believe she would thrive in agility classes, which could offer great mental and physical enrichment. People often stop to admire her and ask if she’s a show dog.
Lumi will come with everything she needs to settle into her new home. This includes a collar, lead, harness, coat, bed, lick mat, fur brush, and toys.
She is currently lated in Cambridgeshire, but by end of May/early June she will be located in Bristol.
