Marvel
Marvel is a wonderful, easygoing lurcher who has settled beautifully into foster life and is ready to find his forever home. Gentle, affectionate, and quietly curious, he has a talent for making himself right at home — usually in the cosiest spot in the room.
Indoors, Marvel is calm and relaxed, often found snoozing by the fire or choosing between his favourite spots: the dog sofa, a doughnut bed, or a sunny patch when the weather allows. He is completely clean in the house with no accidents, sleeps independently downstairs, and greets his foster family each morning at the bottom of the stairs with wiggly enthusiasm and happy head nods. He likes to do a regular "roll call" to check where everyone is — a sweet reminder that he's a dog who loves his people. He eats well and does best with a consistent routine.
Marvel has been a polite and easy guest with all visitors, including children's friends, tradespeople, and returning family members. He is becoming more confident and relaxed in company, and has been a hit at the local pub, happily soaking up attention and fuss from locals.
Out on walks, Marvel really comes into his own. He loves open fields and the freedom to run, and is equally happy on town walks, country tracks, nature parks, and visits to the dog park. He enjoys a steady, relaxed pace and is completely unbothered by bikes, runners, and scooters. He greets other dogs politely regardless of size or breed. He can occasionally be mildly uncertain around some larger breeds, notably Alsatians, but responds well to reassurance and moves on confidently. He was briefly unsettled by an unfamiliar fair set up along a regular walking route, but with gentle encouragement continued without issue. Car travel is going well too — he has recently grown much more comfortable settling in the back of a campervan on longer trips.
Marvel shares his foster home with resident dog Mudeford and the two have bonded beautifully. They follow each other around, take turns picking their favourite snoozing spots, and sleep contentedly downstairs together. He would likely thrive with a canine companion, though his suitability as an only dog is not yet known.
Marvel is a gentle, loving boy who asks for very little and gives a great deal in return. He needs a calm home with a consistent routine, regular walks, and plenty of cosy spots to rest. If you can offer patience, companionship, and the occasional run across the fields, Marvel could be the perfect addition to your family.
