Tizzy
Tizzy is a stunning greyhound girl with a sleek frame, a beautifully expressive face, and the most endearing turned-up nose. Her floppy ears only add to her charm.
Since arriving in her foster home, Tizzy has settled in remarkably well. Within just a week, she made herself right at home. Her favourite spot? Sprawled on the sofa, surrounded by her beloved squeaky toys. Tizzy is a gentle, affectionate soul who loves a cuddle and will happily snuggle up next to you. That said, she’s also content with her own company and doesn’t mind a bit of alone time.
She recently had a lovely interaction with a 10-year-old boy in the vet’s waiting room. He asked to pet her, and when he sat beside her, she gently snuggled into him and enjoyed all the cuddles. It was a beautiful example of how calm and trusting she is, even with children.
Tizzy is curious by nature. Her nose goes everywhere! She adores her walks and gets very excited when the lead comes out. Her lead-walking is a work in progress (she does like to weave a little), but she's easy to guide and improving every day.
She sleeps soundly through the night and is clean in the house. Tizzy has a regular toilet routine, usually around 6am and shortly after meals, and will give a gentle whine to let you know she needs to go out.
She gets along brilliantly with dogs of all sizes and has been living in foster with a calm Golden Retriever. Out on walks, she’s sociable and relaxed when meeting other breeds, large or small. She isn’t one for rough-and-tumble play with other dogs but will happily entertain herself or play with you, especially if squeaky toys are involved.
Tizzy also behaves wonderfully at the vets and takes everything in her stride with quiet confidence. She was recently left home alone while her foster carer took another dog to an appointment, and under camera watch, she stayed calm and relaxed the whole time.
She travels well in the car, whether in the boot or on the back seat with a hammock. She’s a great pub or café companion too, calm, quiet, and content to stand or lie down by your side. Her table manners are a work in progress (she does like to sneak her nose onto the table), but a firm “no” helps, and she’s learning quickly.
Tizzy would thrive in a home with or without another dog. If there is one, it’s best if they’re a laid-back companion rather than a playful pup. She could live with children of secondary school age or older and has coped well being left home alone for short periods.
This gorgeous girl is truly a joy to have around and will make a wonderful addition to the right home. Tizzy is ready to find her forever sofa. Could it be yours?
